No. DR. ANNIE™ Insights is a pre-justification and identification tool — it provides AI-assisted findings to support and enhance clinical decision-making. All AI outputs should be reviewed and confirmed by a qualified dental practitioner. It's a powerful second opinion, not a replacement for professional judgment.

Analysis typically completes in under 3 seconds per image after upload. The complete diagnostic report is generated within 2–3 minutes once all required images have been submitted and the AI-digitized results have been verified by the user. A minimum number of images must be uploaded and processed before the full report can be generated.

Yes. DR. ANNIE™ Insights is designed with privacy and security at its core. All data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS and at rest via Transparent Data Encryption (TDE). Authentication is handled through Auth0 with OAuth 2.0 / OpenID Connect, ensuring industry-standard secure access. Payment processing uses Stripe, which holds PCI DSS Level 1 certification. Our infrastructure providers — including Microsoft Azure, Auth0 (Okta), Stripe, and Cloudinary (Salesforce) — each maintain independent compliance certifications such as SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001. We are committed to supporting compliance with applicable healthcare privacy regulations including HIPAA, GDPR, and PIPEDA.

DR. ANNIE™ Insights is built with privacy-by-design principles that align closely with the core requirements of PIPEDA, including consent-based data collection, purpose limitation, appropriate safeguards, and individual access rights. Our platform maintains formal compliance with HIPAA (United States) and GDPR (European Union), both of which share significant overlap with Canadian privacy legislation. We are actively formalizing compliance documentation specifically for PIPEDA and applicable provincial health privacy laws, and we are prepared to enter into a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) customized to address specific Canadian compliance requirements.

DR. ANNIE™ Insights collects and processes the following categories of information: patient demographics (name, date of birth, gender, ethnicity, height), clinical images (X-rays and intraoral photographs), AI-generated analysis data (cephalometric coordinates, landmark annotations, segmentation results), dental charting information, clinical questionnaire responses, and diagnostic reports. We encourage all clinicians to de-identify patient images before uploading them to the platform as an additional privacy safeguard.

DR. ANNIE™ Insights is hosted on Microsoft Azure infrastructure, primarily in the United States region. Patient records and diagnostic data are stored in Azure SQL Server. Clinical images are stored securely on Cloudinary, an enterprise-grade CDN operated by Salesforce. Authentication is managed by Auth0 (Okta), and payment processing is handled by Stripe. All providers maintain enterprise-grade security certifications and comply with industry-standard data protection practices. For clinics with specific data residency requirements, we are happy to discuss available options.

Our AI system consists of 13 pre-trained machine learning models that perform inference only — they analyze the images you upload and return results, but they do not learn from or retrain on patient data during operation. Our models are trained on de-identified datasets prior to deployment. During normal clinical use, patient data is NOT used to retrain or improve our AI models. Per our Privacy Policy, de-identified and anonymized data may be used for quality assurance, system validation, and product improvement in compliance with applicable law. We also encourage clinicians to de-identify patient images before uploading for an additional layer of privacy.

You do. As stated in our Terms of Use: "You retain ownership of the Case Records and patient data that you submit, subject to the rights and permissions necessary for DR ANNIE™ Insights to provide the Service." The clinic retains full ownership of all patient data and case records. HCDS is granted a limited processing license solely to provide the diagnostic services you request. We do not claim ownership of your data.

Yes. Our Privacy Policy supports data portability and return. The platform includes a built-in download feature that packages patient images along with associated annotation and analysis data into a downloadable file. If you choose to discontinue the service, we will work with you to ensure a complete and orderly export of all your patient data. Upon confirmation of successful export, we will delete your data from our systems in accordance with our data retention policies.

Yes. Patient records are retained for as long as your account is active and the data is needed to provide the service. Patient images are stored securely until explicitly deleted by the clinic or upon account termination. Patients can be archived within the application, removing them from active view while preserving the record for regulatory compliance. Upon account termination or written request, we will delete or return your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and any applicable Data Processing Agreement (DPA).

Report pricing is based on a tiered system that rewards higher usage with lower per-report costs. Silver tier (0–100 reports/year): Standard $10, Standard Plus $15, Complete $20. Gold tier (100–200 reports/year): Standard $8, Standard Plus $10, Complete $15. Platinum tier (200+ reports/year): Standard $5, Standard Plus $8, Complete $10. VIP Premium reports, which are manually reviewed by orthodontic professionals, are $50 per report across all tiers. Each report level requires specific verified X-rays — Standard requires a lateral cephalogram and lower dental arch, Standard Plus adds the upper arch, and Complete adds the frontal cephalogram.

Yes. Our tiered pricing system is designed as a volume discount structure. As your annual report volume increases, you automatically progress from Silver to Gold to Platinum tier, reducing your per-report cost by 20–50%. Additionally, topping up $1,000 in a single transaction will upgrade your account by one tier, and topping up $2,000 will upgrade by two tiers — so you can access lower pricing immediately.

Onboarding and initial setup are provided at no charge. Account creation and configuration are free. We offer introductory training sessions at no cost to help you get started quickly. Standard customer support is included at no additional charge. For extended or customized training programs or dedicated support arrangements, please contact us to discuss options.

DR. ANNIE™ Insights is web-based and works standalone without any integration required — simply open it in your browser and start uploading images.
